I'm Darlene Dorries-Scrivner. I am a Licensed Midwife through Texas Department State Health Services.(formerly Texas Department of Health) and have had a private practice since 1992. I continued my education with EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) training in 1997. I remain current in Neonatal Resuscitation and have taken many continuing education courses including; Nutrition in the Childbearing Years, Herbs and Natural Medicine, Improving Perinatal Outcomes, Plus Size Pregnancy and many more. I also teach Adult, Child and Infant CPR and First Aid classes for The American Red Cross. I am the mother of four boys and one girl and wife to a wonderful Christian man. All women, regardless of socio-economic circumstances, have a right to accessible, comprehensive midwifery care and can self-refer themselves to the midwife. Texas Medicaid Program does not currently reimburse midwives for the care they give to expecting women.
