FAQ
Lisa Block-Wiser
Hi, My name is Lisa Block-Wiser and I am a midwife in Tucson, Arizona. For mor information regarding my practice visit Whole Birth Midwifery Some items I would recommend for water birth are: Pools: ultimately what matters about your pool is that you are comfortable with it and you can afford it. All of these pools meet the needs and requirements of a birthing mother. Some are just a little more comfortable for the mother and the midwife. Obviously the “Birth Pool in a Box” has a seat that raises the mother off the floor of the pool for increased visibility and maneuverability and it’s shape is narrow from side to side so the midwife can have complete access if needed. It is also longer so mom can move around and dad has no problem being in the pool with her. La Bassine is also oval shaped and has the advantage of handles inside, making this tub squat friendly. That being said the other two pools work just fine and I have delivered many a baby in them! Aquarium Pool 60’x 20’ (very adequate pool for those on a budget) Note: The ocean Reef Pool is similar in shape, (round inside) but at 76”x 71”x 25”, I find it makes it hard to reach the birthing mother as she delivers.) Birth Pool in a Box 76”x 65’x 26’ (obviously more expensive, but is a perfect birth tub.) Besides the pool some other items that will make setting up and maintaining your birth pool easier Electric Air Pump (don’t fool around with any other pump, time and energy is worth the extra few dollars) 14” Debris Net, (Please!) Floating Thermometer Underwater Flashlights Optional items Transfer Water Pumps, (This is totally optional, but makes emptying the tub amazing!) Pool Patches & Repair Kits Disposable Pool Liner, (Note: I do not require a liner) Mirror Adapters and hoses, (Check and make sure you have everything you need to fill your pool.) Filters, (Note: I do not require a filter.) Disposable Pool Liner, (Note: I do not require a liner) My clients can receive a 10% discount on all home birth and water birth clients. Contact me for my discount code. Blessings, Lisa

WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS SAY
Dear Debra, Thanks for the update on our order. The pool will have a long second leg to its journey as my wife and I are currently located in Tashkent, Uzbekistan but we are very much looking forward to receiving it and getting it ready for our baby's arrival. - Joshua & Anna, California
